Sigma Phi Sigma
Sigma Phi Sigma is the local chapter of the American Criminal Justice Association. Membership is open to Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» or Tarleton State University students who are enrolled in a criminal justice course of study. Because of its commitment to community service, educational trips and fundraising, the group is one of the most active student organizations on Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»'s campus.
Community service activities:
- National Night out
- Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» Trunk or Treat
- Toys for Tots
Education trips:
- State and federal prisons
- Angola Penitentiary in Louisiana
- The United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans
- Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office
- Fort Worth Police Department
Chapter objectives:
- Improve criminal justice through educational activities.
- Foster professionalism in law enforcement personnel and agencies.
- Promote professional, academic and public awareness of criminal justice issues.
- Encourage the establishment and expansion of higher education and professional training in criminal justice.
- Provide a unified voice for professionals and students of criminal justice.
- Promote high standards of ethical conduct, professional training, and higher education within the criminal justice field.
